Our Proposed Team Jersey designed by the daughter
of one of our team members.
Today was a very productive day in planning for the Five For Alaska Tour. Following a conference call between team members and administrators at The American Diabetes Association, we completed the set up our corporate team. One of my Texas cycling buddies is an executive with Pepsico, and he spearheaded corporate backing for our fund raising effort. We've been friends for over 15 years now, and our wives have worked together during that entire time. I even taught his daughter in my Pre-AP Honors Chemistry class in high school.  She's now an attorney in Dallas.

After years of us discussing our dreams for doing a long distance trip together, plans have finally come together. He has suffcient accrued vacation time this coming summer, I've retired, his youngest is graduating from college in May, and I'm in the best physical shape ever following my 2009 heart attack.

I have a little more work to do, but I'm almost done with creating a private access "Five For Alaska" blog. Our family members and ADA donors will be the only folks to have access to our stories of the road, daily progress reports, trip photos, videos, and daily gps tracking. Planning the work and working the plan.
